Review & Cocktail: Acquisition Series by Celia Aaron

About Counselor…

In the heart of Louisiana, the most powerful people in the South live behind elegant gates, mossy trees, and pleasant masks. Once every ten years, the pretense falls away and a tournament is held to determine who will rule them. The Acquisition is a crucible for the Southern nobility, a love letter written to a time when barbarism was enshrined as law.

Now, Sinclair Vinemont is in the running to claim the prize. There is only one way to win, and he has the key to do it — Stella Rousseau, his Acquisition. To save her father, Stella has agreed to become Sinclair’s slave for one year. Though she is at the mercy of the cold, treacherous Vinemont, Stella will not go willingly into darkness.

As Sinclair and Stella battle against each other and the clock, only one thing is certain: The Acquisition always ends in blood.

Full disclosure: This book is a dark romance with elements of slavery, violence, BDSM, and super-hot sex. It is the first of a series and ends on a cliffhanger. If you’re good with these caveats, enjoy.

About Magnate…

Lucius Vinemont has spirited me away to a world of sugar cane and sun. There is nothing he cannot give me on his lavish Cuban plantation. Each gift seduces me, each touch seals my fate. There is no more talk of depraved competitions or his older brother – the one who’d stolen me, claimed me, and made me feel things I never should have. Even as Lucius works to make me forget Sinclair, my thoughts stray back to him, to the dark blue eyes that haunt my sweetest dreams and bitterest nightmares. Just like every dream, this one must end. Christmas will soon be here, and with it, the second trial of the Acquisition.

Full disclosure: This book is a dark romance with elements of slavery, violence, BDSM, and super-hot sex. It is the second book of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. If you’re good with these caveats, enjoy.

About Sovereign…

The Acquisition has ruled my life, ruled my every waking moment since Sinclair Vinemont first showed up at my house offering an infernal bargain to save my father’s life. Now I know the stakes. The charade is at an end, and Sinclair has far more to lose than I ever did.

But this knowledge hasn’t strengthened me. Instead, each revelation breaks me down until nothing is left but my fight and my rage. As I struggle to survive, only one question remains. How far will I go to save those I love and burn the Acquisition to the ground?

Full disclosure: This book is a DARK romance with elements of BDSM, slavery, violence, and super-hot sex. It is the last of the Acquisition trilogy, no cliffhanger. If you’re good with these caveats, enjoy!

Sometime the best praise is hard to word. How do I even remotely begin to tell y’all how much I loved Celia Aaron’s Acquisition Series? Honestly, I’m not sure. Let me tell you a little secret: I don’t come by fangirling honestly and it feels a little weird to want to be all up on an author’s jock. But let me tell you I’m…

the fuck out right now. RIGHT. FUCKING. NOW.

How I found this series:

I’d already read Cleat Chaser and FLOVED it. Then, when I was sent Counselor and then Magnate (big ups to my girl Lauren Lascola-Lesczynski) I was beyond stoked to get started. Public Service Announcement: Once I started this series, I couldn’t stop. I NEEDED to read it. I was so obsessed with Sin and Stella, I dreamed about them—which never happens. The

Romace and SuspenceWas EPIC!

What you must know:

Aaron’s Acquisition Series couldn’t be more perfect. The main characters  are complex, desirable, and engrossing. Honestly, between the Vinemont brothers Sinclair and Lucious, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to be victorious—in what, I won’t tell. Read the books—and that’s a feat within itself. And the supporting characters were as both as amazing and horrible as they needed to be. Goddamn. These books are excellent.

So now you get it. I’m in love. Can’t help it. For your sake, I’ll quit sucking Celia off and get on with the review/cocktail.

This cocktail I dedicate to the SEVEN RULES of…

The Acquisition—My take on a 7 & 7— is a highball cocktail made with whiskey, raspberry liquor,  and 7UP served over ice that will suffice. In fact, it’s bound to make you burn. Cause once you drink this, you’ll be buzzing as if you’re Sinclair Vinemont’s latest triumph.

Cocktail: The Acquisition

2 oz,  Seagrams® 7. The whiskey you pick should bear the number 7. Like the seven rules to drink by.
1 oz, Chambord® rasberry liqouor. This stuff is amazing. Delicious. It’s so red and sweet like Stella.

7 Up Soda
High ball glass
In a highball glass filled with ice, add Seagrams®7 , Chambord®, and as much 7UP as you need.
This is the easy part. Because there’s a lot of hot-ass-hell sex in this book, along with some seriously disturbing shit, drinking an Acquisition should help take some of the edge off. And just as many of the characters like to swig some spirits to lighten their predicaments, you can also indulge in something dark and delish whilst easing your tension. So go ahead and acquire this series for yourself. Then sit, sip, and Sin all you like. Cheers!
